Things to do when going to Barcelona - Part III

by - July 24, 2014

After coming home i'm still thinking about  my erasmus period in Barcelona
I wanted to do another post on some restaurants I tried there,
and share my experience with you!

Plaza de Sant Cugat 1

I went here for brunch but you can definitely come here for
some drinks at nighttime as well as for dinner

next up: Luzia,
 Carrer del Pintor Fortuny 1

one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona,
you can literally have anything here; asian, italian, tapas,..
and everything is delicious.
It's also close to the Ramblas so a late night walk is essential when having
dinner here!
Also Luzia is one of the restaurants of the group "Grupo Tragaluz" which also
includes Bar Lobo, Negro-rojo, etc.. also very good restaurants!
When being an Asian-food-lover this one is definitely a must-do.
CDLC/Carpe Diem
Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta 32

Next to the beach offers you really nice food with an asiatic touch.
especially the fresh spring rolls still make me drool at times just thinking about them, ha.
Also the interior and decoration makes you feel like you're in the movie Aladdin.

for icecream:
Passeig de Joan de Borbó 55 (Barceloneta)

you also have one in El Born. I've tried a lot of icecream places here in Barcelona
but the taste of authentic icecream without actual "ice" in it is
very hard to find here because of all of these touristic places,
but Vioko really fulfilled my expectations!
Really good ice cream and even other little pleasures like macarons, cookies, etc..

Then something less fancy.. but almost 100% Dutch
a bar called
 Carrer d'Aragó 305

When being here for 5 months I really missed the Belgian/Dutch specialty: "Frituur" and
the french fries, bitter ballen, etc..
Also depending on the period they serve free cocktails until 22.00h and they are delish!
On Dutch public holidays like "Kingsday" they organize big events and
even for things like watching football it's a good bar!
Also I am a big fan of frozen yogurt,
and in my opinion this place has it all!
they've got different flavors of yogurt like Belgian chocolate(do I need to say more?),
water melon, oreo, etc.. aaaaand loooots of toppings!!
They have 3 stores in Barcelona and you pay for the amount/weight of your portion.

Carrer Jaume I 1

When walking through Carrer princesa in El Born you won't immediately notice this restaurant,
but once you do you'll see that its cosy and original interior will excite you.
Also the food was really good and not expensive at all!

C/ Princesa 33

I had the baked duck and it was only 11,50€! I just had to mention this..
 chicken cannelloni

For a casual dinner with friends this place is definitely in my top 10.
It's similar to Kiosko (as seen in my post from april) where you can
choose and compose your own hamburger.

Ronda de la Universitat 31

Let me know what you think about these places when you've visited them!
